Purex with Zout and Purex Crystals

Several months ago I signed up to be a Purex insider meaning that I get to sample the new products from purex before they ever come out and then do reviews on those products. Recently I recieved 2 different products from purex.

• The first one was Purex Crystals Fabric Softener: I just want to say I love these little crystals. They leave your clothes smelling clean and fresh. I have requested that they send me coupons and when i get those coupons i am going to have a giveaway so others can try out this product too. It is the only fabric softener I use now.

• The second product I recieved was a bottle of purex with zout. This product does help in getting rid of stains. However if the stain is already set in the fabric it will not come out with this product, but if the stain is a very recent stain and you can get it right into the wash it does come out with the Purex with Zout laundry detergent. I have also requested coupons of this product as well. So when I recieve them I will be having a giveaway.

Birthday Girl

Today is my best friends birthday. She is the sweetest, kindest, nicest, most thoughtful friend anyone could ever ask for. She is an excellent listener and a great talker. I wouldn't know what to do without her in my life. We talk all the time and pour our hearts out to each other when our days have gone wrong. We share in each others triumphs. So I want to give you some words that I think describe her the best.

January 18th A special day

I would like to dedicate this blog post today to someone very special in my life. Although this person is no longer living her spirit continues to live on. She was my grandmother (Mary Frances)


Below is a portion of a letter I wrote to her a few days after she died.

My Dearest Grandmother,

I just want to let you know how much you are missed. I think about you everyday and you are constantly on my mind. Oh how I wish I could talk to you somedays.

You were so kind to me throughout my entire life and did so much for me.

You always seemed to put others first and many times met their needs before you met your own. I will be forever grateful for the years that you kept me as a child and nutured me.
Your kindness and love to others will never be forgotten. Especially the kindness and love you gave to all the children you kept throughout the years.

I know you suffered many hardships throughout your life but through it all you always seemed to show grace, mercy and wisdom.
Your wisdom has taught me so much I can only hope that I can gain some of that wisdom during my lifetime.

I will cherish forever the time that I was able to spend with you the last two weeks of your life. Although you may not have known I was there everyday it was my pleasure to be able to care for you and love you more during that time.

I hope as I grow older that I can have a portion of the grace, kindness, love, patience, mercy and endurance that you had.

You were such a special person and will always be remembered. I consider it an honor that you were the person I called Grandmother.

I know this letter may not flow very well and it probably doesn't mean alot to most people who will read this but it means alot to me and I have found when you lose someone very close to you, by writing letters and notes to them in a journal it helps you feel closer to them.

I didn't think it was even possible but I miss her more now than I did the day she died. I miss the little things: talking to her on the phone, showing her pictures, going for a Sunday afternoon visit to her house and even just being in the home where I spent so much of my childhood. Today would have been her 83 birthday.

Snow and Ice

In keeping with the unusual snowfall and ice storm that hit the south this past weekend and has just started to melt today, I have found some quotes on snow and ice.

As pretty as it was to see the frozen white stuff we call snow fall it is time for it to go away because I am getting some serious cabin fever.

Since we don't get snow and ice all that often in the winter we don't have the amount of snow plows and equipment to get this stuff scraped off the roads very fast and so therefore the roads are still in not that great of condition.

We have already had snow at least 4 times this winter. Although some of it has only been snow flurries two snows have resulted in at least 5 inches each time. With this most recent snowfall we also got a 1/4 inch of ice on top of it resulting in a lot longer time for this stuff to melt and go away.

So I would just like to say snow snow go away and don't come back this winter at all to stay. LOL!!
